Library Two, the sequel.

The library is good, last year I used to go there during my free period to enjoy the natural light, and to avoid talking to anyone because i didn't have friends or talk to anyone.

However this blog is not about not having friends, this is about improvement, and while the library is great and very unique everything can be better. And much like I improved myself to be able to handle basic social interactions. The library could be improved to support things such as:

• A Maker Space which could provide great opportunities for students to build and learn.

• Support a warmer atmosphere for community and cultural growth.

• Chairs that are not part a part of the critically acclaimed line of Back Breaker 9000's produced by Arthritis INC.

Okay that last one while true is a bit mean to the library, but it's true.

So we all put together and pitched our best designs and concepts for improving the library, to Arason and Mrs. Sand and some other people. This is great as our input may actually influence future decisions made by staff.

Some of the interesting ideas include using the conference room as a maker space or recording studio, that can be quickly changed from that to a conference room.

Allot of people talked about updating the aesthetic as right now it is a little boring and drab in some areas.

Plants were also a popular suggestion, one I fully agree with as there is an abundant amount of natural light and have something living and fresh would improve the atmosphere.

Finally what comes to mind for me is colored printing, some people brought up that colored printing has been used by teachers to doc grades and therefore it should be provided by the school.

This was very much to the chagrin of Arason who squashed that idea faster that Dave squashes these hoes.

I personally really enjoyed this project and would be absolutely delighted to see any amount of my input incorporated to the future library. Even if it's input on how not to design it because my floor plan is so bad...

But I really hope that's not the case!
